I was a freelance science writer published by the Wall Street Journal Europe, Financial Times (on the front page), COSMOS, SciDev.Net, Science Careers, Ethical Living, The Ecologist, Nursing Times, How It Works and many more publications.
For two years, I was science editor of BioNews - a newsletter covering developments in fertility treatment, genetics, embryo/stem cell research and related areas.
Before going freelance, I worked during the day as a corporate copywriter for Bell Pottinger Health. At night and every Saturday, I studied for my NCTJ Certificate in Newspaper Journalism. I joined Bell Pottinger Health after completing a PhD in climate change monitoring.
In September 2011, I started a full-time master's degree in creative writing.
